As suggested by email answers to my questions, I have tried clicking on View, Tools, Address, lock and unlock. None works.

Try disabling all add on under tools, manage add on's. If that does not return it, then you better scan for malware on your system.

Click on view. Clicking on toolbars will open a dropdown box. Make sure address bar is checked. If you are using Microsoft Explorer, this should work. I don't know about Mozilla or AOL.

If you haven't already, try right clicking on your task bar and check address bar. If you've already tried that, i don't know how to help you.
