I am so glad you asked that. Yes it is time Americans come first. I often wonder how a country can help others when in our own homeland we have the homeless, some with no health insurance, we have people starving, living in ghetto's because that's all they can afford. Giving American jobs to illegals in our country and helping other countries sending our jobs over seas.Do we even know what our government is getting financially from those jobs sent over seas. There must be a payout to our country somewhere, because I cannot believe our government
would give them our jobs without a back kick in it where money comes to the U.S. monthly for doing this for that country. I cannot believe the corporations were that thoughtless to their own fellow Americans that they gave the jobs to the foreigners and moving the company there just to pay.each employee there less. That a kick in the teeth to the U.S. if you ask me. and to us Americans who could use that job as well. Personally how did we let that happen...did we even have a voice like a vote on it?
I sometimes feel If I were foreign I would get more..how sad is that coming from an American.? Funny how the budget is out of whack for us but for foreigners, it seems to be all there.

Absolutely. It's the same principle as individuals helping others - you can't very well be expected to take care of others if you're not taking care of yourself.
We need to be able to take care of our own here first - then we'll be much better equipped to tackle global issues. We should be investing more in our insolvent health care and social security systems, our miserable education system, and our weakening infrastructure. Further, and perhaps most importantly, we NEED to explore alternative forms of energy so we can wean ourselves off of foreign sources of energy. This will also help us cut down on fossil fuel emissions, thereby improving the environment.
If we can get some politicians in office more concerned with the policies that affect Americans than the policies that affect people in all the other countries around the globe then maybe - just maybe - we can regain our economic strength and stature, and in doing so, share this affluence with those who need it most all across the world map.

Not really, we spend a tiny percentage of our money on the world's problems. The one exception to this is what we spend to invade iraq, though many would argue this wasn't money we spent on the world's problems, but rather money we spent causing problems. But actual foreign aid money and support? Not including what we're spending on Iraq, foreign aid is a little over 20 billion dollars a year, in a 2.3 trillion dollar budget. So we give about 1% in foreign aid, and that's only about 0.2% of our economy.

Sometimes the world's problems become our problems. I'll give you just two dates 12/7/1941 and 9/11/2001.
The first is the start of WW II for the US and the second the start of WW III.

what is broke? you want gangs eradicated? troops on the border? What? Americans have it quite good compared to other nations. I;m not saying we don't have problems, but money is not always the solution. The more we give the more inept the program is.

HELL YES! It really ticks me off and has for years. I can't get started right now or I'll be typing for hours and end up having a stroke...But, I absolutely agree with you and I think that our government needs a serious overhaul and all current members be replaced!

What does America have that we can actually fix? Seems to me like all we do to ourselves is ruin us. As long as we stay away from ourselves we wont get hurt.
