It is against the computer structure to keep identical file names within the same folder. If you're dealing with a WORD file, you can create a 'version' within word that essentially keeps two letters that are different within one file name.

If these 2 items are of 2 different file type/format, for e.g. one DOC file and the other PDF file, it is possible to save in the same folder.
But if the file name and file format are same you can do it by giving different file extensions and associating it to open with the same program.
For e.g you can give one file name as venu.doc and second one as 'venu.dox'. you can associate the 'venu.dox' to open in word. However, in the folder where it is stored, both file names will appear as 'venu'.

No problem as long as they are not the same kind of file. For example, you could have a picture of something and make one copy a jpeg and the other a bmp. Or you could have two written files where one is saved as a txt file and the other a wks.

They can have the same name if they're not the same file type. So you could have "Fred.doc" and "Fred.jpg" in the same folder (usually you have it set so that you don't see the file extensions, so they both look like just plain "Fred").

Not possible. Does it really matter if you have to put 1 or something at the end of one of them?

The only way to do it, to have save one in your removable stick, on a disket or cd and the other in "My documets".
