Okay, July 11th I had a doctor appointment and found out my baby was breech. I went back on July 18th to find out my baby was now head down. Not only head down but as of then I was 2cm dilated and -1 station. I had another doctor appointment today, July 25th, and I have not made any progress. Although my baby is still head down I am also still 2cm dilated and -1 station. I am being induced August 7th, one week from Monday, if I do not go into labor on my own by then.
This is my second pregnancy. I was also induced with my first, labor lasting 18 hours and pushed my baby out in 20 minutes. I will be 38 weeks pregnant tomorrow.
I am very anxious to know and to be able to go into labor on my own but it is very frustrating with nothing happening. I have tried walking, eating spicy foods, etc.
I know the baby will come when the baby is ready but I just need some reassurance or somebody to say it will be better than I imagine in the end, who knows.

WOW! Well, with my first I was induced because I had high blood pressure. In fact, while I was in labor with my first my blood pressure got as high as 230/100! I was in serious danger and they wanted to take me in for an emergency c-section but I managed to do the rest myself.
This is my second and my blood pressure has started to go up again so my doctor is worried. That is why the scheduled induction date.

Wow- I wish I could help you out but all that I have are words of encouragement. Hang in there and the baby will come when he/she is good and ready. I don't have to tell you that it will be worth it in the end because I think you already know that. Best of luck to you and you are in my prayers.

First..Did you know that induction causes longer and harder labors?? Something to think about!!
Second..Babies are born when THEY are ready. NOT when you or a DR is ready!! DR's are pushing women to induce when they hit 38-40 weeks...Babies are not always ready!! AND unless you know the exact date you got PG, your baby may be a week or more younger than you think!! DR's estimate the age of a baby...but don't really know!!
Okay..help for you...get in touch with a Doula...They are wonderful!! They offer LOTS of ideas for "Natural Induction"...Please don't be induced, you know that YOU are allowed to say NO to these DR's right?? It is YOUR baby and YOUR body!! Please remember that!!!
I am not too sure where you are but here is a website that may help, atleast tell you about Doulas...get in touch with one somewhere!!!

Here is some info that I found elsewhere:
Here are some of the more popular labor inducers tried by women:
* Walking -While walking won't necessary start labor, it can encourage labor to progress if you've started early contractions. Walking is often also good for encouraging a head down baby to settle into your pelvis. This will help dilate and efface your cervix.
* Sex - This is my favorite natural method of labor induction during pregnancy. Men's semen contains prostaglandins, which are necessary to help ripen your cervix. Your cervix must thin and dilate for you to have your baby. I think this is a beneficial form of natural induction that also helps relieve stress for both mom and daddy.
* Evening Primrose Oil - EPO contains the precursors to prostaglandins, substances your body needs to produce prostaglandins to help ripen your cervix. Some midwives rub evening primrose oil directly on the cervix during the last weeks of pregnancy to help the cervix thin and dilate. Keep in mind that placing anything in the vagina during pregnancy may increase your risk of infection and not recommended.
* Castor Oil - I do not recommend you try castor oil, though you will likely read much about it. Castor oil is nothing more than a laxative. It stimulates your bowels, which may irritate your uterus causing contractions. If you are not already dilated and effaced somewhat however, chances are you will just end up sitting on the toilet for hours after taking castor oil.
* Spicy foods - These have the same effect as castor oil, but are a more gentle way of stimulating your bowels. You may get serious heartburn however, from eating spicy foods so try them at your own risk!
* Blue and Black Cohosh -These are herbal remedies that when used together may help induce labor or help strengthen contractions. You should never use them however without consulting a qualified herbal or health care professional. There are some studies suggesting blue cohosh may damage your baby's heart or lead to uncontrollable hemorrhaging in the mother. A better bet is to stay away from these potentially dangerous herbs.
* Aromatherapy -Certain essential oils including clary sage may help promote or encourage labor contractions in women. Try adding a few drops to your shower.
* Acupuncture and Massage - There are many trigger points in the body that can help inspire labor. Seek the help of a qualified masseuse or acupuncturist during pregnancy for help with these.
Many women go into labor just by relaxing. Sometimes pent up stress and anxiety are all that are necessary to prevent labor. You may find a relaxing massage is all you need to go into labor simply because it allows your body to relax enough to encourage delivery!

well my first baby did the head up head down tango three times, I was induced and took over two hours of pushing. My second I went into labor the 4th of may, dialated to 3cm, and then everything stopped, they wouldn't keep me since I hadn't reaced 4cm. On June 4th I was induced and had him June5th! you can stay dialated for a good length of time, both times I tried castor oil, and accupressure, and neither worked enough to get me started in labor.
Just relax, enjoy a quiet evening with candles, light music, and your hubby/boyfriend. Let grandma or a good friend watch baby #1 and enjoy the last few days of pregnancy.
good luck

at the risk of sounding like i'm beating you up, why are you consenting to being induced? you are not yet even at 40 weeks, you are not in any danger, the baby is not in any danger. the baby comes when your body is naturally ready to deliver. that is the way nature designed it and intended it.
yes, it is uncomfortable to be nine months pregnant in the summer months. i completely agree. but inductions are medically overused interventions that lead to other unneccessary interventions and complications during delivery. they place undue stress on both mother and child. please research the statistics and see for yourself how dramatically the instances of complications increase with medically induced inductions.
best wishes for a safe and healthy delivery.

You'll be just fine. The baby knows when it's ready. Mine was born at 36wks 6days. He was just ready. If you are trying to go into labor, try having sex. It works. You could also try castor oil. A friend of mine tried that and it worked. Walking should help too.

Being induced is no big deal. They throw some drugs in your IV and contractions start, baby comes, it's all over.
