hi i was just lying in bed and felt a really sharp sting type thing to the side of my head. it hurt for about 5mins then i jumped up out of bad to find something that looks like a flying red ant. before i knew i had been stung/bitten the right side of my arm went all tingle. any ideas? im from Guildford,Surrey,uk

The tingling arm thing sounds a little strange. Maybe the insect hit a nerve, but I don't think it could penetrate the skin the deep. It may be an allergic reaction. I would just ice the bite if it is swollen or put some Benadryl cream on it. If you lose feeling in your arm or feel other tingling sensations see your doctor immediately.

incorrect area to ask this, yet: if you're making a paste out of meat tenderizer, MSG, and placed that on the bites it may assist the discomfort. Benadryl can assist if it is an allergic reaction, yet frankly, if it replaced into the form of reaction, you does no longer be typing at present. about the ants; blend Borax with honey or jelly and go away it close to the ant pile. It sterilizes the queen, so the colony dies out. it is not any longer an insta-fix, besides the undeniable fact that it would not poison something both. solid luck1

Ants with wings are "princes" -the males that reproduce with the queen of the nest. All the rest are basically sexless drones.
We have fire ants in Georgia. They're red, and they can leave a welt, but not really so bad, unless you have an allergy (or are attacked by the whole nest)...

i dont recognize exactly what kind of ant it is. it is good if you use a hydrocortizone cream if you are not allergic. if the tingle continue for more than three days and hurt you a lot. you better go to a dermatologist. you probably need to take antibiotic.

Its an insect bite. Insects can't kill you in britain, unless your allergic to them (and you wouldn't be able to ask your question if you were as you'd be rolling about on the floor in agony)
Do this:
Stand up
raise right foot.
stamp on insect
go back to bed
sleep

i would clean your arm in salt and water it will get rid of and germs what could cause a infection
