YES I am afraid of the dark. When I was about 5 or so my aunt use to lock me in the closet and sometimes in the bed room with the light off and make scary nosies. She would say someone was going to get me and take me away from my MOM and that I would never see her again or that someone was coming to kill me if I don't get out of the room. Now I have a fish tank in my room, I sleep with the fish tank light on.

If I am alone I am very afraid of the dark. I am afraid of the unknown...what could be there in the darkness. Not necessarily ghosts or whatever but murderers and things like that. I have panic attacks when I don't have some kind of light on when I'm alone...its happened a few times when my husband is there as well. I am not sure why I am afraid of the dark or really when it started happening...but I do know that I am.

Yes I am afraid of the dark. My fear comes from an incident that happened when I was a teenager and to this day I use a night light.

Please! Afraid of the dark? Come on! I`t just a natural human response to the unknown. It`s not fear for the darkness perrsay, but for what could be hiding in it. And as usual, there are no Boggy Men in the corner of you`re room. Jesus. No I am not. U?

No I'm not afraid of the dark. The darkness allows me to cool off after a hot summer day. It gives me time to think and dream. The darkness is not an enemy to be frightened of but a friend to welcome.

The only reason the dark makes me feel frightened is the possibility of creepy people in it. If I knew there weren't any humans around, I would be completely comfortable in the dark.

Yes. When I was little I wasn't. But now I'm near sighted, so I can't see what's making that shadow. So I get pretty scared after waking up from a nightmare.

Yes, because there are monsters and boogeymen in the dark, and they touch me, and I can;t sleep, and I crawl under the bed and they grab my feet and I kick at them and I scream and they growl and they tickle and I laugh and they tickle more and I piddle and they jump back and I splash them and they smell bad and I smell bad and I go to sleep...

yes, it is fear of the unknown...once my eyes adjust I'm usually ok. I hate being outside in the dark though, especially in an unfamiliar place.

Yes, my eyes always takes a bit longer than most people's to adjust . . . plus, when I was young a neighbor used to threaten to catch me asleep and cut off my ears. I still sleep with the cover over my exposed ear.
