Why "Million Dollar Baby" and not "Million Dollars Baby?"

There's a rule, my friends. '55-year' or '55-dollar' is used as an adjective. Adjectives don't have inflections. But, again but, such adjectives must have hyphen in between the words that make the adjective. 'a million-dollar baby, not 'a million-dollar-baby''. 'a five-letter word', and not 'a five-letter-word'. But, who cares!

Subject-Verb agreement, right?

A - flower
not
a- flowers

Similarly,

a - dollar
a - year

Just plain 55 years is denoting the MULTIPLE number of years, rather than referring to a SINGULAR person or thing who is described by the attribute of year or dollar...

Year is singular, as is a person. You're talking about one thing, and not more than one. Years and Dollars are plural, which refers to more than one. You're describing one thing, not more than one.
