My fiance and I are so in love with each other and we want to get married now. We want to have a great wedding for our families to see, but we want to get married now. We cant afford it now but want to get married now. We want to go to the Justice of the Peace and just get married. Good idea?

It's up to you guys. My cousin got married at city hall a few months ago for insurance stuff, and they are having a church wedding October 07. It really hasn't mattered to any of us. You might want to see how your families feel, because as much as a wedding is about the two of you it is also a really important day for your families.

I'd talk it over with the parents before I did something like that. You may piss some people off.

Our wedding costs -
Wedding invitations - $105.00 (40 people)
Marriage license - don't remember the cost
Our wedding was in a city park in Orlando, FL. - $65.00
Reception hall (friends apt. complex) - free
Wedding cake - $40.00
Food - $200.00 - no alcohol
Wedding dress and tux rental - $300.00
A friend married us (no notary charge) - free

That's cheap if you ask me!!

Honey, PLEASE don't go to the JOP.
You don't have to put yourslef in debt, either...............
Just meet halfway. Have a nice wedding that you can afford.
But, have a wedding. Enjoy your engagement, too...............
You'll never forget your wedding. Very special - and if you don't
have a wedding where your friends and family share with you, you will be sorry.
