I have just put in my new bathroom this weekend and if i do say so myself have done a great job lol. The sink and toilet were easy just a few new attachments and they were on. The bath was a bit of a pain just because some places were a bit awkward to get to. The big problem i had was i kept getting the wrong size pipes and attachments so spent most of my time at b&q replacing them also forgetting things like plumbers tape and sealing but once i got all that everything was quite easy to follow. Just do one thing at a time and see how you go and also have an emergancy plumbers number to hand incase all goes wrong. Also would like to add that im a 26 year old woman with no experience at all and only needed my husbands help for liffting lol

Do yourself a favor and hire a plumber. They will get it done sooner than you can and it will look a lot better. Besides, here in Id if you have any problems such as a pipe breaking homeowners insurance will not cover any work done by a non-licensed person. Plumbers go to 4 yrs of school for a reason. It is not just something most people do right.

I have. You really should get a plumber to do the plumbing, but apart from that just take your time, take each step at a time and logically think things through. Mark everything out as you want it, make sure it all fits. I raised my bath about a foot when I did mine and it looked great, and the sense of achievement is amazing. Oh I had no experience as well.

Are you just taking out the old suite and replacing? If so, should be straightforward enough - probably all plumbed in using compression fittings anyway which are foolproof.

Of course, a proper bathroom job requires stripping walls back to brick, floor back to boards, drylining to square, concealing all pipes etc etc - costs a mint but you can't do that DIY!!!

I honestly have and being a experienced chippie for 15 + years i can inform you that it truly isn't any easy chore to do and it gained't take you purely one weekend to do it, in case you'll do the total shebang then my suggestion is to employ a license contractor to do the artwork, it might want to seem severe priced yet after it is all performed you'd be at liberty and so will your relations and acquaintances who might want to work out it instead of attempting to cover it for some thing else of your existence

Hi yes I fitted one in my last house, and about to do another in my new one.One recommendation is always put stop valves on the pipe work,ie: hot and cold water, then if there is a leak these can be used to turn the water off, this way no flooding.Good Luck.
