if you really want your own website, start with hosting. I suggest 1and1, which also offers a site builder if you need help with that. Otherwsie you can find free hosting, or , if you want a more template site, you can start a page on things like Yahoo360 and Google Pages.

What's it about? What's the purpose? What is the theme?

What you need first is a reason to be on the web. Otherwise, everyone will ignore you like you have the plague. Your site must be attractive and exciting and easy to navigate. When you have your site figured out to where you can attract their interest in 3 seconds or less, then you are ready to ask your question.

First -- Decide what kind of website you want to make.

Second - Register a domain -- godaddy.com

Third -- Tell me what kind of site you want and maybe we can work together to see your vision come to life on the web.

Four -- You need webspace to publish your website too so the world can see it. I can get you a hosting account -- pretty cheap too!

Fifth -- Contact me ijoer316@yahoo.com

These are the basics -- You need a domain name in some cases unless you just want to make up a myspace page or Yahoo 360 page.

You need a theme or subject for you site. You need someone or you can do this yourself to design your website.

You need to or to getsomeone to program your website in HTML.

Let me know if you have more questions...just drop my yahoo 360 page and leave a message or email me direct.

just a suggestion but geocities is good and if you use yahoo email than your username is a part of your web address. That is a free site. If you want to pay for hosting you should look around and start with your internet service provider who may offer you a small page as a part of your connection.

Good Luck
