I think Americans do think they are all smart. It's Canadians who don't think Americans are. Many Canadians know that alot of Americans can't point Canada out on an unlabelled map. Which Rick Murcer (I believe that's how it's spelt) and his special edition of "This hour has 22 minutes" proves.

Smart? Are you speaking of education or do you really believe that "smart" is a product of a certain countries? I believe in comparison to many countries Americans are well educated, diverse people. One note, we are arrogant and often see ourselves as not needing to learn of other cultures or languages. Many other countries people tend to speak several.

Let me start by saying that I don't consider myself to be smart. Reasonably intelligent? Maybe. But no matter how reasonably intelligent I think I am, I have my faults and I have no problem admitting it. Some people just don't want to admit to the fact that they are imperfect human beings but they have no trouble pointing it out in others.

This is an anti-intellectual society peopled by folks that just want to be entertained.

There are many places (here on earth) that on a curve would move us to the head the class...but we're not in any danger of IQ poisoning.

I'm not sure I agree with you. I think lots of Americans think
that other Americans are wrong. Wrong is not stupid.

Its easy to be quite bright and wrong at the same time,
especially when it comes to politics.

That is probably true for people, not just Americans. Nobody even thinks that they are average, yet half of you are below average.

I don't feel Americans think they are any smarter than anyone else. at least I don't. there are many people in other countrys much smarter than me

I don't think they all are smart, maybe a small percentage of them
but not all... more then half don't even have a passport.
