tell him that you care for him and think his mother in fantastic.. but tell him you are leaving becasue you find it difficult understanding why his mother controls his life so much....tell him you need to be with a man that puts you first and you find it hard watching him getting treated like that... and that it is so hard watching him go through this
if he really loves you he see what is happening and take control of his life
if he picks you make sure you set boundaries immediately, dont wait... tell him that if your mother was to do this you would not allow it either and you would stand up to her
explain to thim you would love to haev a great relationship with his mother too but you cant under these circumstances
all the best darl

You let go of a boyfriend over 50 who can't make a move without his mother who treats him like a slave.
Why do you want him, anyway? So YOU can treat him like a slave?

I think it's good for a son to love his mother but a man 50 years old being a mommas boy. That's to much! You need to either talk to him about his situation with his mommy or you need to let him go and let him be miserable with a controlling mother. Some mothers don't want to let there sons go. I dated a guy like that and his mother always got in the way and won. So I cut the string with him and it was the best thing that ever happened for me or right now I be so miserable with the both of them. Do you want to be miserable like that for always? Good luck in your choice!

My slogan: Their are plenty of other fish in the sea!
If he can't stand up to his mother, how do you think he will be with others or you?
Just a picture on the wall, type of guy

Find a new boyfriend unless you want to be a mother to an old man! If he's that old and is still tied to mother's apron strings, there's no hope!

Honey you will never win in this situation .. you will always be a distant second behind "momma".
Get out and find another, or learn to live with being #2.

That's really hard..... sounds like he hasn't been married before - which makes it exceptionally hard. If he has been married - I bet mom interfered a little too much. It sounds like she is actually dependent on him - even though she yells at him. If your relationship isn't strong - it may not survive his mom. That's a toughie.

Tell him that if he wants another woman in his life, to give you a call, but apparently he has more than enough in his mother already.
