can i take my dvd player from england to my home japan or will i have to pay import taxes etc.?

I wouldn't only worry about the the taxes, I would be more worried about weather if the voltage is the same. It might be best to sell it while in England, and get a new on when you get to Japan..as far as import law goes...no idea

I recommend that you ge tit out of the package. put it alone. and the cables and stuff somewhere else.

If you have it brand new package seal. You migth have to. Dont know tho.
