Some of these answers seem kind of confusing so I will try to put it a different way. Third person means that the writer is not part of the story. He is telling someone what other people did. Like "Bob jumped", "she drove".

Definition: A form of writing in which the story is told from an outside or on-lookers point of view; all characters are referred to as "he" or "she."
Here are examples of all three forms of writing in persons.............
First Person writing, where the speaker expresses his views of himself, as in "I ate the apple."
Second Person writing, where the speaker speaks to another directly, as in "You ate the apple."
Third Person writing, where the speaker is speaking about another person, as in "She ate the apple."

If you write in the "I did this" form, you are writing in what is known as "First" person. If you are writing in the "you did that" form, you are writing in the "second" person. "He" or "She" did something is writing in the "third" person.

Don't use I, we, us, or you.
You are describing others, not with you included.
