i just got a dvd burner and i noticed that the dvd+r says 'dual layer' and dvd-r says 'double layer'. is there an actual difference in encoding or space? or is this just different ways to say the same thing? thanks, cb

There isn't one. Dual layer and double layer dvd media is the same.

they are one and the same.means if you have a burner that can handle burning on two layers you have more data.
dual and double are the same word.
