Newer botherboard can have the bios flashed from within WIndows. Most older systems require flashing from a floppy drive on boot. If you don't have a floppy drive that you can hook up to the system you could try making a bootable CD with the image. Most CD burning programs Nero, PowerISO, Magic ISO... allow you to put in a boot image. Then you would have to set up the BIOS to boot from CD-ROM. Worth a try I suppose.

It depends on how old the computer is. The way it used to work before flashing was that you had to physically remove the BIOS chip and install an updated one.
You could visit the bios manufacture website or a local computer store to see if yours can be flashed or not.

If the PC's BIOS is presently operational and you can toggle the setting to check the CD on boot-up, you could burn the new BIOS onto the CD and put it in the tray before you shut it down.
Just a thought. Or you can get external floppy drives or borrow an ext. drive.
Hope this helps!

how are you going to by twist of destiny flash your bios? besides, flashing firmware is amazingly risky and your board might want to be no sturdy now. there is not any longer fairly a fashion to pass decrease back. Yea, settings might want to be restored by using doing away with the battery or possibly shifting some jumpers on the motherboard, yet when the chip would not have the right coaching on it or no longer all of it were given written, you won't be able to fairly do some thing about it.

You can flash from a CD but you have to make sure that it's set to boot from CD (or DVD) before your hard drive or floppy drive.
Make sure you know what you're doing, though-you can really screw up your computer easily if it goes wrong.

Most motherboard manufactures have programs now that don't require you to turn off your computer. They actually flash your bios from inside windows.
I would suggest checking your manufactures website.
