Definitely both for me.
It's so fun, so addictive, and the people are so much fun to interract with...however...it can be a waste of time and suck some serious life out of ya!

I love Yahoo! Answers! I have tried other question and answer sites, but none compare to this one. I am pretty much addicted to this site. I have learned a lot from others, I hope that others have learned something from me, and I get some pretty good answers to my questions (usually). There are some that like to ruin it for others and give horrible answers or say things that aren't allowed, etc. But, you just learn to look past those and look at the rest of them.

Its addictive and a very cool idea. But, after the initial addiction wore off, I find myself answering select questions and not anything and everything under the sun, just for the points.
I like the simplicity and genius of the idea of someone, somewhere in this world, asking a question and getting a heartfelt, intelligent answer from any number of individuals so inclined to respond.
But, I no longer answer the questions, that in my opinion, already have numerous correct responses, or, ahem, the seeker just should know better....
That said. I will not be abandoning the Q&A any time soon.
So here is a shout out to you from very hot CA!

LOVE: you have to give to receive, and since i like to be able to pull the community (like a quick, free focus group :) when I need something, I feel it’s important to do my part and give quality answers to others as well :) besides, while it seems like a waste of time sometimes, we are actually building a huge d/b of answers people will be able to reference for a long time… this stuff is huge in asia and really amazing!

Both. Sometimes I like to answer (people who are serious and really need something) but other times I hate it when a "certain person" and others do annoying stuff.

Im new so Im still able to pull away a lot but I have heard of some people really getting hooked on here, and yep, that would suck. So, so far, I love it. Great question!

I agree, it's both. Sometimes people are so rude with their answers that I wonder why they even bother to be on here but it is still alot of fun.
