Well, females are pressured to look perfect and out of this pressure has come the natural obsessive-compulsive habits of their behavior that makes them go to clothing stores to try any and every type of clothing they can get their bodies in (even if they KNOW they look pathetic in what theiry trying on).
You see, it a form of research and development. The read magazines; observe dress patterns that dudes think are hot and make logical decisions to assure themselves of being more educated than other women on what's hot and what's not. Quite resourceful these females are when it comes to clothes.
It's also a territorial thing as if to indicate to other females that they aren't afraid to rub their odors with other chicks (who've tried on the same clothes at the store) because they instinctively think they produce the strongest pharamones that most attracts males.
Quite frankly they behave this out of purely biological reasons. When you have a chance, walk into a girly clothing store and observe. They're so into their shopping that they assume you're just another female too and don't even realize that you're spying on them.

They're looking for reassurance, and processing their own thoughts out loud.
Always say: "What do YOU think, sweetheart?", then agree with whatever she says. Sometimes women need help making up their own minds.
Don't say: "You look lovely in everything you wear": for some reason this makes women really annoyed. Don't ask me why!
If she says she's got nothing to wear, promise to take her shopping the next day if she will pick an outfit in the next five minutes.

They want your opinion and looking to you for advice. Probably she ends up picking something different then what you say looks good is because maybe she gets the impression your really not paying attention or care.

because most girls r not confident about thierselves and what they wear and want to impress guys to get there selfesteem up because they think bad of themselves and there just looking for what they want to hear, but ur right just nod ur head yes to everything they say trust me it helps then they'll leave u alone and still like u.

they excercise their instict and sense of beauty, it is just a ritual to summon your desire and tune it to their channel, until you said, "oh you look better without one"
