A google earth image. Now what we have here is obvious. does anyone care to comment. (for those who don't recognize it; its DC). I was looking for the closest metro stop to my favorite restaurant and I saw this. Now I am starting to wonder if those conspiracy nuts aren't on to something.

anyone can get a map of washington dc or anywhere else for that matter. that area is very popular with tourists. I can find at least 10 different maps of washington dc if needed. i dont think it is a catastrophe that we can get a map designed to be a bird's eye view of an area we want to visit, and you can do the same thing with any tourist map - have been able to for decades. If you were researching for your favorite restaurant, why were you entering washington dc for the search parameter instead of entering the restaurant name? That is what I would have done, as there are no restaurants in that particular spot on the map...

If you remember the spiderman line " ....with power comes resposibility" you could say the something similar for the emerging technologies..."..with technology comes the RISKs". Well this debate has been going on from day 1 of launch of google earth. My country has escalated the security concerns to have the high security risk regoins removed from google earth. China has restricted sensitive information from Google search engine. With no formal international norms or governing agency to deal such issues...I guess for the time being all countries are on their own. It will be really sad to see such novel technologies being shelved because of few antisocial bunch abusing it for their evil motives.

Sorry, I'm not sure what I'm looking for. What conspiracy?
Do you mean to say, like a Pentagram for like, what, devil worship. You have to be joking! If that's what you mean, that's about the most asinine thing I've ever heard.
Damn conspiracy nuts.

Yes, I'm confused as well.. Are you just talking about the satellite image, nothing else? Is there something I'm missing, cause that's old news.. That technology has been around for years.. nothing new..

Except that your search terms, saved in the URL you gave, are "washington d.c." Nice try.
