I've tried Midol and it didn't work for me. I do a few crunches. That relieves cramping immediately. Seriously! You know cramping is just your endometrium (a band of muscle) spasming to get out the uterine wall, so if you do crunches, you ease the muscle spasms, which will relieve the pain you're experiencing.

I just rub my lower tummy and the cramps go away, I do it lying flat on my back. I'm also a pill popper so any pain reliever should do the trick. This may sound wierd but really works. When I have really bad cramps I lay my cat on my tummy and her purring actually is soothing and they go away. Sounds wierd, really works. People have told me the same thing before too.

Other than Ibuprofen, you could try putting a pillow under your abdomen and lying down, that has always helped me. Another thing that is supposed to work is giving yourself an orgasm. At least I noticed it helped me once or twice after I read about it somewhere. (can't remember the source) I'm serious.
I think it may help relax the muscles in the area, so it makes sense actually.

I do too! :( Things that work for me: Midol, hot tea (I like chamomile, peppermint, and green tea), prescription painkillers, lying down in a dark room curled up in the fetal position, exercise (sounds crazy, but it helps- even just stretching or a taking a brisk walk), distracting myself with TV or music, and getting someone to give me a massage! Good luck.

I take a very warm bath and take some ibuprofin. Sometimes even going for a walk will help a bit. Get used to it and try different things that will help you.
