Yep...always paid my own way. Not because my parents didn't WANT to spoil me, but because I was youngest of 5 and they had already blown what little they had on the older ones! (ha) When they say that they wish they could have done more for me, though, I always tell them that letting me do it on my own is the best favor they ever could have done for me. It definitely made me appreciate everything I have so much more. I don't regret my situation at all.

iam not spoiled, my parents bought my first car it was a jetta but i got it used and they didnt even pay for all of it my uncle has money so he helped them. I have had a job since i was 16 only received 35 dollars a MONTH for allowance which is not anything. i have been buying my own clothes, shoes, stuff for my room since i was 12. so your parents can still help you out and you arent spoiled, i appreciate everything i have and dont think my parents owe me the things i have

I belong to the same club. My parents taught me at an early age.... "If you want it, earn it". I think most people will agree that when you work for something you appreciate it more. Shhhhh, don't tell Santa!
Because like any one else I do enjoy and appreciate a special gift. But working for something gives you a sense of pride.

I paid for everything except rent until I moved out. I had to hold a full time job or go to college full time, or I would've had to pay to rent. I think it made me aprreciate things more, because as a grown adult, I can pay for my own stuff and not mooch off my parents.

i had to pay for my car . im 16 n i paid for things myself before that. i gotta pay for my own clothes, my cell phone bill, car insurance, when i turn 18 im gettin kicked out so i gotta pay for w/e im gonna live in, i gotta pay for college myself....so of course i appreciate watever i have since i basically pay for it! my parents really didnt wanna raise a bum in this family!!!

i hate kids whose parents pay for every single lil thing n they're not grateful for it. they dont know what its like to work their as$ off!
