Because they are thought to be more reliable (which was true in the beginning and the idea has stuck). Their parts and fuel consumption have also enjoyed a favorable reputation.
BTW, I now have switched from a 2001 Porsche 911 car to a basic Jeep Wrangler to be able to go Off-Roading - It's the best car I have ever had!!!!!!!!!
I was so happy to be out of my Porsche lease!!!

Reliability, better gas mileage, and better styles.... better resale values...
Japanese executives listens to their customers.. They spend a lot of money on R&D and incorporating current and up-coming technologies. This is also true for German cars but the German cars prices are out of many American families.
Many Americans have yearned for better fuel economy and better reliability from Detriot but were ignore for many decades. I love my VOLVO!!! but Lexus are just well made!!
I hope the rest of AmeriKKKa will wise up and dump their unreliable/ green house enhancers!!!

each and every man or woman is free to settle on the automobile variety he likes. also in Germany we force all sorts of automobiles, no longer purely German ones. So i do not understand what you're talking about. looks you do not stay in Germany.
