Quit Limewire. There's adware. Plus, if you use it long term, your computer will crash or mess up really badly. Anyways, you aren't clear where the files are from. They can contain viruses or torjans included in the file.

Also, you're doing illegal things by using Limewire. If you truly support your favorite singers, buy their music and don't steal [that is if you are downloading songs, but it applies to everything].

oh and some safe downloading tips from limewire,
1. download songs only, no programs.
2. download songs with time in it, make sure the time is normal, none of those 2 hour songs or 10 sec songs
3. download songs with a appropriate file size. if the file size is really small, like 1.6 kb, its not a song.
4. keep a anti spy handy, i perfer spybot search & destroy + adaware + yahoo's antispy

If every one is so scared of using lime wire why dint you just not use it???? However if you would like a Program that is 100% legal, and it has ZERO virus threats and absolutely no ad/spy ware you should try Ares Galaxy.net its fool proof and it has a media player on it.

Ignore the people trying to guilt trip you. Use AVG virus scanner. My husband is a major computer geek and he wears by it, so it must be good.

I use AVG. It's free and so far it seems to work. Also I use spybot to get rid of spyware.

You can use ANTIVIR. When you are downloading, its not yet check, it will check only once it was saved on your disk.
