Help! She is pregnant and my guppy will eat her babies when they come. I tried putting her in another tank but she just gets depressed and same thing with the guppy. Any suggestions? And no, I can't afford a breeding net, no matter how cheap it is.

Okay your fish needs to stay far away from other fish, since she is pregnant she is in way more danger! Keep her in a seperate tank, but put a backround in the tank or some tank accessories, nothing big or dangerous to her condition. You'd be amazed on how just a few touches to the tank can make her happy, dont worry about her being depressed she'll have the babies soon.
Also in order to ensure your fish live look up information on your fish, (its breed, how to care for it, and how to help it since its having babies.
You seem to care a lot about your fish so do what you think is best, but remeber to keep her away from all fish, theyll make her nervous and on the defensive. She will be okay on her own, animal instincts always take over, by the way congratutaltions on the future babies and good luck.

DEPRESSED?!!! Now I heard it all...your a FISH psychiatrist?
OK so put your other fish in another tank leave her there alone...
SHE will eat her own babies most likely.
IF you cannot afford a breeder's net MAKE ONE
Use a plastic box and make handles to hang it on the side of the tank slit holes in the bottom big enough for the babies but not her.
HOW to make handles ?
Wire coat hangers??? or some strong wires...
USE your mind and think of what you can IMPROVISE to make a breeders net.

SOMETIMES at the market a cherry tomatoes or strawberries come in a plastic BOX not the green crates OR even a plastic water bottle cut down...
LOOK at the site and get Ideas.
OR next time do not let them breed, sorry but that IS what MALE and FEMALE fish do best!

you just got to geta plant and a breeding net. thats what they are there for. If you want the babies you got to buy stuff. its like 5 dollars max for a breeding net. If you can afford fish you can afford the net. Cause this is not the end of babies. soon the babies will grow up and they will have babies of their own and you are gonna still need the net and plant. the mother might eat the babies too. so you got to get a floating plant so the babies can hide.

Watch her close until she has the babies and take them out and put them in the new tank. Use some of the old water for the new tank. You can feed corn meal for the fry if you don't have enough money for the fry food. You don't have to use a filter on the babies tank, just use a bubble stone.

sure thats a pregnant one. what you must do now could be seperate it from the opposite fish cos as quickly because the little fish pop out then an additional fish thinks yumm reside nutritious meals, nd they consume it earlier than it hits the backside of the tank. even the tiny neons will consume them. so you'll be able to get a type of breeding nets - simply connect it to the aspect of the tank, with the molly within, and ttake the molly out as soon as they have got been laid in any other case she wil consume them, cannibalistic i do know, or you'll be able to positioned her right into a absolutely unique tank/box witha filter out and heater. additionally, make certain the ammonia degree is at zero cos any further strain will make the brand new fish die. even hint quantities.

Well the Molly will eat there young too, what you have to do is put your molly in a tank you want the little ones to be in when she gives birth put her back in the regular tank, (Hint) get a couple strings of foxtail at your fish store it shouldn't cost a thing and that is for the young to hide in after they are born

If you don't want the guppy to eat the babies then I would separate them until she has them and they are old enough to fend for themselves. Depressed or not! Good Luck!
