An acre isn't a number, so how can u take the square root of it?
An acre is 43,560 square feet
So if you wanted it to be a square, it would be approximately
208.7103 feet on each side
The unit originally was created to represent one chain (66 feet) by one furlong (660 feet)

An acre is 43,560 square feet, so if you had a one-acre square lot, its sides would be 208.71 feet long---not a very pretty number. However, here's an odd fact; A standard city block is 440 feet long, so a city block that is 440 feet long by 99 feet deep is exactly one acre! The strange thing about this is that in the old days, lots of 40 x 100 was standard, not 40 x 99. Maybe just a stupid coincidence here.

The square root deals with a dimensionless quantity.
An area has dimensions. But if you really need the square root of an acre, then consider an acre to be linear distance times linear distance (width * depth). So the square root of an acre is merely a linear distance.
In feet, an acre is 43560 square feet, so the square root of acre would merely be 208.71..... feet.
The square root of 4 acres is 417.42..... feet.

This can be done in several ways. This is the easiest;
The square root of one acre is the square root of one. Therefore the square root of one acre is one acre.

Acre, measure of land area used in the English units of measurement. The acre was originally the area a
yoke of oxen could plow in a day and therefore differed in size from one locality to another. It is now fixed
as 10 square chains or 160 square rods, i.e., 4,840 sq yd, 43,560 sq ft, or 1/640 sq mi. It is equal to about
.4047 of a hectare or 4,046.9 sq m.
In other words......to answer your question.....
the square root of an acre is.....208.71032 feet
69.570108 yards
63.615249 Meters
