No.

I don't believe all cultures are equal, because some cultures systematize cruelty and injustice more than others, and some cultures systematically allow for more people to reach more of their creative potential, and be more prosperous, than others.

A simple illustration, say one culture allows people to have slaves, and another culture doesn't. I'd say, assuming other factors are similar, the culture that doesn't allow slavery is better.

I think this issue is very important for many reasons, including the because maintaining that all cultures are evil prevents one from looking at one's own present culture, and thinking about the ways in which it could be better. If we allowed slavery, and we figured all cultures were equal, what would be the point in fighting to free slaves?

Is Twenty-first century American culture "equal" to the 19th century culture that allowed slavery and genocide of Native Americans? I don't think so. If we can say the culture of our present is superior in some ways to the culture of our past, then we can also say that some cultures in today's world are in some ways preferable to others. However, every culture has good points, and no culture is without flaws. You can really only compare certain aspects of a culture, rather than the entire culture. For example, you might say that American culture is superior to Chinese culture in the sense that we value democracy and freedom, but Chinese culture might be superior to American culture in other ways, such as their work ethic and family values.

Joel, Not only do I believe all cultures are equal, I'm brave enough to say to you that I think all people are equal too.

I see by your other answers that you think gays should be killed and punished for their wickedness. Gee Joel, seems to me someone isn't getting much satisfaction in their life in a certain way if you know what I mean.

Any chance you are in major need of getting laid or are you just a plain old nut job?

No, I do not. Cultures are not about equality they are about what peoples believe and practice.

I do think they have an equal right to exisist as long as they don't try to force their culture on others who are not interested.

All cultures are equal and the only ones that could be classified as "superior" are those whom follow the Bible and live according to God's will.

All cultures are not equal because each one is unique and special. They are cherished and enjoyed differently and that's the beauty of our differences as people groups.

I think that everyone is equal in theory but bad morals and ethics change that. Cultures have nothing to do with it.
