I thought maybe I could get a tattoo to cover up the scar if doing it again was out of the question.

i've had my belly pierced twice. the first time, i took it out because i still lived at home, parents hated it, etc...
the second time i got it done, it hurt SO freaking bad. i got it done at a tattoo place, and the guy said he hadn't seen one like mine in a long time. it took him forever to pierce it because of all the scar tissue, and it felt like he was ripping my insides out or something. ok, maybe not that bad but it hurt alot. and it was because of the scar tissue in there. i'd get a tattoo cover before i'd try it again. but that's just me.
good luck!

DO NOT....please DO NOT do anything else to your body. This is one of the main reasons that I do not recommend piercings and tatooing. People don't know 'how' their body tissue is going to respond when this occurs. Keloid tissue, and other scarring can occur in certain individuals and there is no way to determine who the "lucky" person is going to be until their pierce or tatoo. Allow your body to heal and don't attempt it again. please

Self-mutilation may be "in" right now, but piercings will not help your looks as you age. You're going to get wrinkles and now your adding holes too? Think about it!
