the exorcist was a riot! i was young when i saw it at the theatre and everyone in the crowd laughed at everything. okay - don't want to "turn heads"...so -

what scares me is what happens in your head when you can't see something.. the suspense is the direct stimuli to every hair on your neck. because you know... "in space... NO ONE can hear you scream".

hands down - ALIEN.

great question!
cheers
:o)

tough to answer such a simple question! When I think back on all the movies i've seen in my lifetime, it seems i have a different answer for different stages of my life. As a child, I remember being scared to death by the wicked queen in Disney's "Snow White" (really, she scared the ever-living-cr*p out of me!). As I got older, I found movies like: Psycho, Jaws, The Exorcist, The Shining, Alien (and it's really good sequel, Aliens), etc. to be quite scary. If I had to nail down one movie, I guess I'd vote for Snow White (believe it or not!!).

Saw 1, in my opinion. That was the scariest movie I've ever watched. It didn't need a sequel.

I hate horror movies, so I never watch them. So my scariest movie may not be that scary to others, but it is to me. War of the Worlds. (the one with Tom Cruise)
