i had my period from the 15th to the 21st. I check my cervix to see if I am ovulating through out the month. (As it says in Take Charge of your Fertility) Today and yesturday when I checked I had white mucus like lotion form. However, it was not a lot. I was able to stretch it slightly. And get a few peaks to form from it. Does this mean that I am ovulating or will be ovulating soon. Or does this usually mean that ovulation as already occurred? CAn someone tell me what they think due to their experience or from what they know. Serious answers only please! And no call your doctor and ask, b/c my doctor office is closed at this time and I want to know if I should have sex or not tonight. Thanks!

I am 25 yrs old and i have had two previous pregnancy. I have a 6yr old son and a 20 month old daughter. I did not have to try hard to get pregnant with them. it kinda just was easy all I pretty much had to do then was say I want a baby and it happen. Not quite that easy but not as hard as this time.

when your mucus is clear like eggwhites, is the best time it also
stretches. that is the best time!! i would say your gonna get ready to ovulate, although, you can have sex up to 3 days before you ovulate, and still get pregnant. and last but not least, your age. if your younger, the more fertile you are. in the 20's is good. .

If you have regular, average cycles, then you should ovulate at the end of the month. What you're noticing is the start of your hormone surge, and if you keep monitoring, you should see more clear, very stretchy "egg white" cervical mucus as the week progresses. You'll also notice that your cervix is very high (could be hard to reach) and squishy. Once ovulation has occurred, your cervix will get firm and may drop a little lower. Good luck!

I WISH you had said how long your typical cycle was...
if your cycle is usually 28 days you should ovulate on, or about, July 29.
if your cycle is 30 days... ovulation should happen about August 1.

cervical fluid is a rather hard way to detect ovulation ahead of time when used alone. are you using basal body temperatures? the endocronologist that i see doesn't even want me to bother with cervical fluid observation. just BBT & ovulation prediction kits. if you have never taken your temp (BBT) before all you need to know is that you take your temp every morning (vaginally preferred) and record the temperature. you will notice a pattern to your cycle. here's a free site that will do all of the work for you once you record the temps daily:

if you're having trouble conceiving (in comparison to the other 2 pregnancies), i would REALLY suggest the BBT for starters!

my ovualtion kit was off or something because I got preg. a week before my period and the ovulation test told me that I was ovulating! I have learned to leave those alone and just have sex every 2 days that worked well for me. Yet we are all diffrent. GOOD LUCK BEST WISHES

Good luck. All those methods for figuring out fertility/non fertility are not totally reliable. That is why the joke exists 'what do they call people who practice the rhythm method? Parents'. There is truth in that joke. Why, even my Mom had my baby brother while she was on the pill. Go figure. There is no way around it, sex has a way of producing babies.
