I am a Chinese man and I am borned and live in Canada all my life. My gf is a Caucasion and we have known each other for 2 years.
However, when I tried to propose to her, she is hesistant. It seems there is opposition from her family and friends. There also seems to be negative feelings about her being married to a Chinese.
In fact, ever since she introduced me to her family, it seems it is more difficult to get her to go out with me. It seems her family disapprove of our relationship and her being married to a Chinese. She also seems to be more embarrassed now when she is with me.
So the question is, is there anything negative you feel you have on Chinese men? What kind of impression do you have on them? Do you think they are okay or do you despise them?

there nothing wrong with Chinese. i know a lot of Chinese people and they are great. dump her. and find someone else who will respect you. you sound like a nice person.

i don't see why any one should have a problem with some one just because of their race, i have never in my life heard anything bad about a Chinese person and i would not treat them any differently then i would my own race
it is known though that some people are scared of whats different so don't take it to personally and if this girl keeps knocking you back then find some one who will accept you for you and be there for you no matter what

I can seriously say that i do not have any negativeness towards chines people. In fact i admire them. The food that you produce in your country and have brought to other countries is wonderful. My impression is the old saying of 'you cannot judge a book by its cover'. This saying is so true in my opinion as we cannot fully judge someone just on race. Some people in this world judge others based on race, colour, and anything else they care to. i have nothing negative to say about Chinese men except that they are lovely people.
In finishing i really think positively about Chinese people in this case men in particular.

My daughter is with a Chinese guy and they are expecting,(a Baby boy in Nov).I'm a blackjack dealer and most Chinese men and women are so hateful that I have dealt cards to.I thought my soon to be son in law was the same.He's not but he says what is on his mind.I'm sorry her family is closed minded.Because you sound like a good guy.

To put it simple if you truely love someone it shouldn't matter what nationality they are. Chinese, Japenese, Cuban, Mexican whatever everyone is human and everyone has feelings and everyone needs someone to love them. If her family and she have a problem then that is their problem and not yours.

Thats odd. I would find someone else who wasnt embarrassed, who loved you for you...I have no negative feelings toward Chinese folks, i find it odd they despise you...

I am Asian and my husband is caucasian. Our differences in race/nationality has never been a barrier between us. There is nothing wrong with you, and if she cannot accept you for who and what you are, then she's the wrong person for you.
