the answer is c = 34

step by step solution is as follows:

question is 8z^2 + cz + 35 = 8z^2 + 34z + 35
solution
1 step : cancel 8z^2 from both the sides
thus, eqn becomes: cz + 35 = 34z + 35

2 step: cancel 35 from both the sides
thus, eqn becomes: cz = 34z

3 step: similarly, cancel z from both the sides
thus, finally, c = 34

The question is simple subtraction
First cancel out the 8z' 2 :
CZ+35=34z+35
cancel the 35's :
CZ=34z
divide by z:
C=34

8z^2 + cz + 35 = 8z^2 + 34z + 35

==> cz = 8z^2 + 34z + 35 - 8z^2 - 35
==> cz = 34z
==> c = 34, as long as z does not equal zero.

This is a very straightforward problem....basic, basic stuff.

And NO one here correctly pointed out that z can NOT be zero....which is important.

ok... remember that everything you do to one side you have to do to the other.

Start by subtracting 8z^2 that leaves
cz+35=34z+35

next divide by z

c+35=34+35

not subtract 35

c=34
