I need to send a formal letter to the US and to get a response from them, I should send them a SASE (self-addressed stamped envelope). The problem is, for my bad luck, that I live in the middle-east (things are getting bloody awful here) and I don't know how to get a proper US stamp.

I deeply thank you in advance..

You don't need a stamp - buy an "International Reply Coupon" at your local post office. They are good to mail letters back to your country from anywhere in the world. Good luck!

Go to www.usps.com, see if they have any info about this. You'll have to know how much your envelope will weigh and tell them where you live cause rates vary according to these two things. most US firms or organizations only require SASE from people living here and will waive it for you.

You can buy stamps by mail from the US post office. Check with the US embassy in your country.

I would try to find a helpful US soldier and ask if you can buy one from her/him. Or, explain your situation to the person you are sending the letter to, and they might just waive the need for the SASE.

if you are in lebanon, we would like to say that alot of us are very sorry about your plight, especially for those who are completely innocent of any complicity in the ongoing hostilities against israel. we realize that it is a very complex situation, and that right and wrong may not even be relevant concepts any more. and we hope for the best for everyone. best of luck
