Why are people so obsessed with fame?

Oh my gosh no kidding? Is it not the most pathetic thing to see people who would otherwise be rather cool to hang out with, try to look and act like some idiot, who has nothing else going for them EXCEPT they are on a hit show???? Most famous people have probably never had an original thought. They are puppets. And here we sit wishing we had their imaginary life. That is the answer, right there. We all want better than what we have. So why not the illusion of the rich and famous....Thanks for the great question!!! Nana

Studies on monkeys show that monkeys too are interested in the beautiful. The monkeys will give up food to see the beautiful monkey (masculine male monkey, and sexy female monkey alike). No conclusive results on why this is. Some of the scientists attribute the reproductive systems and Social Darwinism to the thesis ... however, this has not been confirmed or denied ... but the fact remains that monkeys and people like to look at the beautiful ones.

To feel like everyone loves them, and to feel some self worth. Dont agree with it but thats how us humans funtion. Apart from our main instinct of survival, feeling important is another triat.

money=greed
people want money.
and they can never have enough.
and alot of people don't get enough attention, so they want fame for attention. there are alot of reasons. most of them are stupid.

some people are horribly afraid of being forgotten when they die. to have your name live longer than their body is sort of a phenomenon that I think that a part of everybody wants. even if its just their kids and loved ones who remember them, nobody wants to die unmissed.
