It really all depends on how your body is built. I have a large frame (thanks Dad!), and the smallest size I've been is a 10, and I was too thin.
I'd say too fat is anything in the 20 sizes (22, 24, 26, etc.) and up. Too thin...that's where it really depends on your frame. If you're a size 2, but you're 5'9" and 110 lb. with a large frame, THAT is too thin.
I'd say being overweight is more dangerous than being underweight. Although being too thin causes health problems as well. Much the same as going under the speed limit on the freeway causes accidents, just as speeding does.
I believe the "average" women's size in America is 12.

From an experienced male perspective, too skinny is when the elbows and hips become piercing weapons that bruise and injure the partner. Counting ribs is what I like to do at a barbecue house, not in bed! Soft, cuddly, and warm is far better.
For example, 5'6" and 135 is not too fat especially if the lady is physically fit. 150 is very comfortable, too.
But then, I am 5'6" and 210, so should not be too critical, eh?

I personally think size 5 to size 13 is a good size. But people make it out that anyone over size 8 is overweight. Either way being extremely skinny or fat is both equally bad and can cause incurable damage or death just in different ways.

A size 8 to 10 should be just right, a size 16 and up too big. They are both dangerous if taken to extremes.

Too fat and too skinny are when they become health issues. If you are ever to the point where you can't do something physically that you want to because you are on either extreme, it is time to seek help.
...and size 6 is nowhere near a large woman.

In this socitiy (in the uSA) a 12 seems to be over board. sadly..
But in the south pacific like New Zealand..etc..14 seems to be perfectly normal.
Don't sweat your size honey, life is too short. In the end we'll all end up geting out depends changed by some nurse.

Okay you have to understand that we are constantly blasted by images of girls who are airbrushed and way WAY too skinny-- and that our culture's standard about being so damn thin is absolutely bogus. (haha 80's word). But seriously, you should pretty much assume that a size six is just FINE and you should let go of your neurosis about it b ecause women in this country are way too obsessive about being too thin. It's absolutely horrible to be obese, and I'd have to say that's worse, but anorexia isn't a good alternative (I'm not saying you're anorexic)

The secret is to be comfortable in your own skin. When you reach that place it wont matter what size is what.
