For Steroids, no. Even if he's guilty, he's just one fish in a big sea of users. For Tax Evasion and Purgury, Yes. His biggest mistake was to get caught in a lie to a grand jury, he'll pay for that when they get all the charges and facts together. Probably only a suspended sentence which means he won't actually go to a prison, but it could happen.

I'm 22 years old, and I respect the game. I've been watching baseball for 16 years now. Barry is one of the greatest players ever. He was a 5 tool player before he took steroids. After he took them, he wasn't a 5 tool player. But he became a monster.....pounding homerun after homerun. What he lost in speed and defensive abilities was gained in raw overall power.
He didn't start juicing until 1998. Barry is 42 years old. He was 34 then. Had Barry retired before 1998 (at 34), he would have been a first ballot Hall of Famer. Had he never put a single steroid in his body and finished out his career, playing until about 41-42, he would have had over 600 homers, possibly 700. Take that into consideration. Maybe he doesn't deserve to be Home Run King......but you can't take away what he did before he did steroids. If Barry Bonds doesn't get in the Hall of Fame, it is almost (and I stress almost because it is not quite there - but close) as bad as Pete Rose getting shafted. You people need some education....don't answer a question if you don't know what you're talking about.
He shouldn't go to jail because he is Barry Bonds. You don't know him as a person, and neither as I....so our ******' opinions don't matter. Is it in your hands? Do you know what happened behind the scenes? It's speculation, so sit on that.

YES, he should go to jail for tax evasion just like any other middle class, unfamous person would. He should also be put in jail once they get hard evidence on his steroid use. I don't hate Barry Bonds I just don' think it is right that celebrities get away with things like Martha Stewart, did you see her jail cell? It was a joke.

No way, he hasn't been charged with anything. If he and all the other "steroid users" were sent to jail, you'd see a lot of ballplayers gone. Cmon, whatever happened to Palmeiro, Sosa, McGwire? Bonds can only be sent to jail if he was found guilty of steroid use. By the way, IM NOT A GIANTS FAN!

Barry Bonds might want to be the scum of the earth and the face of the steroid scandal yet in certainty he hasn't ever been "stuck" doing some thing. even as I consider each and every person that by some ability he's heading off getting stuck and others are taking a fall for him in certainty in u.s. we are harmless until eventually shown responsible. interior the court docket of public opinion there is little doubt that Barry is a cheater and without good morals however the journalists "broke the regulation". even as reported as to testify earlier a grand jury no man or woman can experience compelled to brush aside their criminal duty and forget concerning the choose. If we enable journalists immunity the position do we draw the line. Even Dick Chaney (yet another scumbag) is made to testify earlier a grand jury over the exposing of the undercover agent. The journalists KNEW they were reporting coaching that they'd no criminal actual to illustrate...the certainty might want to come out interior the end yet they chosen to capitalize on privy records to make a earnings. That makes them as enormous of scumbags as Bonds. And lower back there is little doubt in my options that Barry cheated and engaged in criminal pastime yet why isn't any man or woman calling for the heads of the others that known they used besides. keep in mind Giambi flat out admitted to being a person....the position are the demands his head,he's making stupid money equivalent to Barry!!! I only imagine if human beings favor to guage one then choose all of them...McGwire, Giambi, Palmeiro, Sosa, Sheffield (lower back yet another that testified) and the record is going on. finally it truly is us followers and the ballplayers which have some morals, yet might want to get a sideways eye from us or media because of their length or accomplishments that get cheated the most... we pay the large money for a sport it fairly is tainted.

No. I like Barry. Well I did until I found out he was using steroids. But no, he shouldn't, if he does, al lthe other players in the MLB that were/are using steroids, should be put in jail, too.

It depends on what the charges are. I believe he should go to jail if he is found guilty of perjury or tax evasion but it shouldn't be long sentence.
