I use baking soda and lemon, put them together it will foam and stuff but it's normal, let the jewelry soak and move them around even scrub them. It works and leaves them shiny.

Buy denture cleanser tablets (Efferdent, Polident etc.). Drop one tablet in a small bowl of water, put jewelry in the bowl (not pearls, turquoise, coral or other soft stones) and let it fizz. Remove and brush gently with a soft toothbrush and rinse. Be sure to check for missing stones before you pour the solution out, as sometimes the dirt is the only thing holding them in. Delicate jewelry like those mentioned above can be cleaned with a solution of one half teaspoon baby shampoo to one cup of warm water and scrubbed with a soft toothbrush. A paste of baking soda and water rubbed on the jewelry will brighten the finish (this works well on gold plated articles). For silver jewelry, you can remove tarnish with dry baking POWDER. Wet your hand and pour a small amount of baking powder in your palm and then rub the piece in the powder. Store silver in a plastic bag when you aren't wearing it to keep the air from getting to it, as this is what causes it to tarnish.

A teaspoon of Mr Clean and half a cup of water. Soak the jewelry in that and scrub the extra yucky stuff off with an old toothbrush.

gold and silver can be washed in a solution of mild dishwashing liquid and warm water. Wash the pieces in a bowl, not the sink-to prevent it from going down the drain. If you wash more than one piece of jewlery at a time, dont allow them to come into contact while they are soaking.
After soaking the jewlery for a few minutes, brush an individual piece with an old, soft toothbrush, and dry it with facial tissue. pour through a sieve in case a stone has become dislodged from its setting.
Always avoid using bleach

I buy gold and silver polishes. They're much cheaper! When I'm not wearing the jewelry, I store it. Leaving them out in the open only gets them dirty faster. I hope this has helped!

A good jewelry cleaning solution in one of those sonic machines is the best. Do an internet search for a sonic jewelry cleaner. If that's not going to work for you, then no joke, toothpaste and toothbrush! (paste, not gel.)

If you go to Wal-Mart you can get jewelry cleaner for like $3 and set your jewelry in there for as long as it says too and it will clean it for you. It also comes with a brush fro you to scrub if you needed to.

Silver can be cleaned by placing in a large saucepan with water and a couple of peices of scrunched up baking foil/tin foil. Bring to the boil and let it simmer for a few minutes. The scum literally rises to the top.
Carefully remove your silverware with tongs, and buff up with a soft cloth.
