Well, if you want to watch your blood sugar, then do not overindulge in not just sugar (white sugar) but all white-refines, even that type of pasta---but white potatoes, white breads/rolls/bagels/doughnuts/cakes (white flour in it) with white flour (whole grain/whole wheat is ok), white rice (brown rice is the BEST but takes a whole lot longer to cook fresh), and past that is not whole grain. It's not healthy and it contributes to a lot of yeast buildup and other problems with your blood sugar and insulin and metabolism in the body. Besides that white potatoes is the one food that can singlehandedly raise a person's glycemic levels to almost diabetic proportions after consumption.
Also though it's not a Food, perse, drinking caffeinated sodas and beverages like Cofee should be kept in moderation as well, because the type of sugar, high fructose corn syrup is not good at all.
Also if you are going to eat meat (which I love to eat) you need to do it in moderation. This is hard but the trick is eat a lot of fresh salads, roasted or broiled veggies, and other fresh veggies cooked the way you like them. AND your meal in COURSES (or stages) first a bowl of light soup, or salad, or veggies and then the main dish with more veggies and then a light dessert if you like
also I love seafood, but shellfish/crustacean is the one thing even a cardiologist will tell you is a no-no becausea lot of waste in the sea and that is not healthy for your body.
YEAST anything! not good, try not overindulge if you must have it. (I am someone who is tempted to eat whatever so I can understand how hard this one is, especially since I LOVE sweets)
hope this helps you!

Science in constantly changing its mind as to what is unhealthy anyway. Look at coffee and alcohol for example. Your body is amazingly resilient, just show it some respect.
