It is just a red rash, there are no raised areas. You can put baby powder with corn starch on him in those areas (neck, legs) just put the powder on your hand first and then put it on him. They say not to use powder, but the heat rash can make him miserable and if you are careful you won't have a lot powder floating around and he will feel better. When I was little, a neighbor used to put powder on my neck under my hair because I was always so hot in the summer.

A heat rash shows up in areas like under the neck or thighs. Areas that are moist, and that tend to get sweaty from the heat. It's red with little red dots. If a rash shows up under the clothes, it's usually an allergic reaction from your detergent. Neither one is dangerous, just use some cortisone cream to stop any itch. And if it's the detergent, change the brand. Good luck...

It looks like a rash, honestly....red and splotchy. Giving him a bath is good, but it will just have to run its course to go away. Maybe you could put some baby powder on it, too. If it doesn't go away in a few days then I would call his doctor. Its very common for them to get heat rashes, but you would want to rule out other things as well, so check with his doctor.

It looks like little red bumps. They don't have puss and aren't really big. The best thing to do is to put powder on him or keep him dry. You get a heat rash from moisture on an area for too long, not because of the heat. Keep him dry.

My little girl got heat rash over her entire head neck and on the shoulders. It looked horible. She had it so bad that her little ears where covered and starting to crack. It was little pimple like bumps. This was baby number six and none of the others had this kind of rash. It was crazy. What I did is went to the store got some Aveno oatmeal lotion (about $6-$7,not the baby kind) and rubbed it over the entire affected area every time that I changed her diaper. It cleared up in about two days. She still gets little red bumps and when I see them start up I rub on the lotion and away it goes. Good luck with your little one.

My daughter had a rash in her neck area too and it turned out she was allergic to the nickle in the snap in her onesie.
