because of the beat, and because of the guitars (which are beutiful when load) make it sound like a buzz when its quiet. rap's the same way, its just the vocals. plz choose me for best answer!!!!

Its not just rock.....rap fans like their music loud too (with that horrible bass). Ive even heard my grandmother rocking out to opera quite a few times.

Well, it's not jsut rock...
but, the main reason peopel like music loud is becuase it picks up on the bass instuments better, and those are really then main driving beat to a song.
Not to mention: who DOESN'T love to blast their ears out to the fav tune?
You CAN'T tell me that you DON'T crank it up for your favorite song, 'cause that would be a flat out lie.

nobody ever admits this, but I think it is the physical aspect. The body is POUNDED, and it becomes euphoric. Its a high. Your body turns into a gaint tuning fork, your ribcage vibrates, your head goes numb, the pain of life recedes, and everyone is enveloped in a big, throbbing sound which eliminates the separateness of all the individuals...
at least, that's what it does for me... my hearing suffered for it, I don't do it much anymore.

We do because it doesn't get any better then really loud guitar, bass,drums, and vocals that make your heart jump out

because you get more effect that way when your into it you crank it up loud im not saying ear deafining loud but at a high volume

what good is it low? lol you can't listen to rock music low. I mean that's just saying listen to AC/DC and lynyrd skynyrd on the volume of ONE when it should be THIRTY
