If you're talking about teaching at the elementary or secondary level, you need to major in education. You can minor in politcal science or history to teach either.

I knew a History major that went on to be a road manager for a band and another who went on to graduate and then when to firefighter school. Maybe he wants to be chief. The major may not get you a job in any field, but you can be interesting company at the next party you attend. You choose what you want to do and go for it. College will take you farther than anything you can fathom at this point. Do well, study hard and enjoy your future.

To teach at the high school level, you'll need some education courses - depends on the state, but very likely need an education minor at least. To teach at college or junior college level, you'll probably need an advanced degree - at least a masters, maybe a PhD depending on the school and the competition when you go to look for a job.

Politically speaking, when it comes to teaching, you're history. You first have to be a nice person and love the students. Can you handle all that?

I would think you could be either one, but you should ask your college advisor. You may have to change you major and minor around or something.

well yes you just need to combine them into one class they are really related if you think about it . so start of as one and update the other as you go along till you have got your major in that as well it will make you more valuable to the collage and you not so bored you can have classes in both.
