Seriously, why should there be such thing as "chivalry" and why are men always forced to pay. Also, why should someone being the first woman to do something matter if it has already been done before. Finally, why does it matter if a woman sets a record in something that beats a man if it is a non-physical event, such as Nascar?

Because women only want equality when it's convenient for them, and if it doesn't cost them anything. Women want equality only when there is a chance of them advancing, they don't want it when they actually have to "lower" themselves to doing something. I have to admit that women still do the vast majority of the work around the house, but more and more men are helping out as well, eventually, you will see more stay-at-home dads.
Also women want equality when there is prestige involved. How many female plumbers do you see? Female trash collectors? Female mechanics? Those are "dirty" jobs, with no glory. Females want equality in the workplace, but only with jobs that will allow them that have prestige. Oh, as for chivalry, if a man does not hold a door open, or pay, he's a rude a$$hole, and chances are the woman is done with him.

In regards to 'chivalry,' no, it shouldn't be relegated exclusively to men. Politeness ought to be encouraged for everyone. For Nascar, I think it's the fact that women have not traditionally been present in most of its events. Thus the fact that a woman is setting records shows some improvement in that area.

Chivalry should be the same for everyone, not just men to women. If someone holds a door open for me, you better believe I'll hold a door open for them the next time I see them. It works both ways.
Also, I do not force anyone to pay for anything. My boyfriend and I take turns paying when we go out to eat, or pay our own way. I think it's his turn next time, because I helped him paint his room.
And women winning things like Nascar is a big deal because these are usually activities dominated by men, so to show that women can do it too is a good thing.

Because men think that they are better racecar drivers and mechanics and that they are more competent in mathematics and stuff. Women generally haven't challenged men in the past to prove them wrong so it feels really good to be the first woman to achieve something that men aspire to do and throw it in their face.
As for chivalry, women like to be treated well by a potential mate. How could you prove you will be a great man and husband? Just like animals, men have to prove themselves to the female.
Plus, why ask? Just do what works and all is good.
You're not forced to pay. That's just a bonus. It's a jerk who always expects a girl to pay all the time but I don't see anything wrong with sharing a bill if it's not a treat.

ah I have never forced a guy to pay.. I dont know who you are dating but if she forces you to pay.. get out! lol men dont have to pay dude, its the gentleman that want to keep chivalry alive that do those nice things for there lady.. is there anything wrong with that?
In a sporting world such as Nascar.. when was the last woman to win? That should answer your question as to why such a big deal is made out of it!

Hmmm you ask a lot of thought provoking questions, First I don't ever recall a woman I know "insisting" on better treatment, two If I invite I pay if she invite she pay its that simple nobody can "force" you to pay. Thirdly, all first's of anything are important we make them important its our way of celebrating our journey closer to equality of the sexes, the races I bet if you think hard enough you can find a female first in your family It is so very important to have first's because once it happens people's faith that it can happen again and again til it becomes routine Lastly, it matters when a woman sets a record that betters a man's performance cause it tears down that old belief which I think you hold that "boys are better than girls" and that's just not true the fact is girls have been denied to opportunity to find out if they can hold their own I think cause we men are afraid to find out the truth...So Bill O' Reily Jr. Calm down and let the reign of the super women begin ha ha ha!!!! I am just glad they have put up with us for so long .

Not ALL women are like that, I'm a believer in women being treated equally and blah blah, but I LOVE paying for my boyfriend's dinner or for his 'Friends' boxset, or a game that he wants. All I expect is a few doors open for me :) and his smile :)
