It depends on the city, really, but you'd be better off not to forget the zip code, because there are so many towns/cities/ villages with the same names.
You should google the exact town first. Zip codes are now five digits (used to be four). You can assume that zip codes starting with 7, 8, and 9 will be in the south, 5 and 6 will be in the middle or the west, 1 through 4 will be in the north/northwest, and anything beginning with 0 will be the east. Definitely don't forget these.

In Germany we use "Postleitzahlen", which is sort of the same thing as a Zip code. Each town has its own.
Perhaps you could get a german map/Altas and look up the town you wish to reach and find the Postleitzahl that way. Also, click on Yahoo International, click on Germany and put in the name of the town you wish to reach!!
PS the counties Phone # is 011

You must be american.
A ZIP code is the postal code used by the United States Postal Service (USPS), which always writes ZIP with capital letters.
Only the usa (and maybe the phillipines) use zip codes.

LOL
Same place as the fire hydrants in Germany. And the 7-11's. And the Krispy Kreme donut shops.
Germany is in Germany. They don't use the American address system. They should have taught you in school that Germany is in another country! Maybe you were out that day.
I'm sorry, I don't mean to be mean, but sometimes I just can't help myself!
