I have a textured floor on my bathtub, and it's really dingy dirty. It was like that when I moved in -- the old tenants didn't exactly keep it spotless. So anyway, I've tried everything. Clorox, toilet cleaner, magic erasor, degreaser, everything I can think of. It's technically clean, but it's stained so bad. Is there anything else I can try?

Try oven cleaner

Where I live, we have hard water (sulphur!) and it also has iron. Causes everything in the house to look dingy (we've since gotten a water softener) no matter how hard we'd clean it.

However, the best thing we found was The Works toilet bowl cleaner. Caution-don't spray it, don't spill it on anything, it will melt your bathroom rugs, don't mix it with anything, and if you can-wear those thick housecleaning gloves.

The fumes are really strong too-so close the door and open a window or something if you can. Let sit for 5-10 mins, wipe and rinse.

Sounds harsh but the stuff gets off everything w/out scrubbing. We used it to clean the bottom of our deep sea fishing boat..ate all the crud right off.
Good luck

I guess you are saying the bottom of the tub is textured. It must be plastic. Hard set stains like rust is next to impossible to get out. Without removing some of the plastic.
You might try those new "Mr. Clean" wipes that is suppose to clean anything. I doubt if they will work thow.
Now that you have used all those harsh cleaners on the tub to no-avail. You have probly remove any protective coating that the tub may have had.
Either live with the stains. Get some of those ,no slip, stick ons. Or replace the tub.

Try Dow Scrubbing Bubbles bath cleaner. This is all I use on bathrooms and I love it. I also use it to clean other things.
I`m not real sure what your talking aboout when you say textured floor on your bathtub. You might also try calling Lowes or Home Depot and ask them what cleans it best.
Good Luck,

I know that this works for marble bathtubs, most people don't know about it but it works miracles for me. Rubbing Alcohol, just put it in a squit bottle and spray and let it sit for a couple of minutes then it should wipe right off. I've also used 409 All purpose cleaner and sprayed and left it on for at least ten minutes then went back up and sprayed again and let it sit for another five minutes then just sprayed water on it and it washes away. Hope something works for you.

If you go to a Home Depot kind of place, they might be able to show you how to refinish the bottom of the tub. Yuck those prior tenants must have eaten pork chops and gravy out of the tub instead of ever bathing. Yuck... some people are so.. well you know.

Ive always used Comet its a dry powder and you dampen the tub then sprinkle comet all around the tub and let it soak about a half hour then scour good and rinse well with hot water.

My Chinese neighbor cleaned my sink with a mixture of lemon juice and vinegar; I couldn't believe the stains came out.
