Because in the old days, old white men got together and decided that most things "natural" were wrong, including sex. They wrote it all down in a book, said their god was born from a virgin (or else, she would just be another S l u t), and demonized women for doing anything remotely sexual.

Animals (including homo sapiens) are put on Earth to breed, so sex is something that people naturally and instinctively need. It's one of the basic needs of the living. Putting an ugly "forbidden" label to such a beautiful act between people is pure stupidity.

That's a modern day analogy. It has nothing to do with the story of the "forbidden fruit" in the Bible. In Genesis 3 it is the fruit from "the tree of the knowledge of good and evil" that is forbidden- basically a rebellious disobedience and independent pride against the Maker and Master of mankind.

Sex is not "forbidden". It's awesome! God made it!! Thank you, God!!! But, I believe he also gave an instruction manual on how and where to get the most out of it- it's called marriage.

Love, joy and peace,

Hesed

It is? Well, I suppose it is the forbidden fruit because sex is a huge impact in peoples' lives. Sex makes a relatioship harder to get over, and the concequences can follow a person for the rest if their lives. So while sex is a wonderful thing, it is something that is best stayed away from unless you're in a secure position in the relationship (Like, say, marriage.)

Its not, sex between a woman and a man who are married to each other is fine. The forbidden fruit in the bible was a literal fruit.

as a cynic, i would say it is all about economics. back in the 'day' when the bible was written etc, women were still sold forr dowries, i believe. as such, a woman needed to be a virgin when she married to ensure that she would fetch a good price. how does one discourage young people with hormones raging from sleeping around? make it a mortal sin.

ultimately, this was designed as a method of moral control. the reason women were made the 'bad' one in this equation also follows this theory of economics, as there are no obvious signs if a man is not a virgin, and so it became less crucial to enforce his enslavement.

Who said that?!? If we didn't have sex, how did you think we were gonna increase in number?!? God wanted a man and a woman to unite in body so that they'd bare children (fruit as it is written in the Bible), and increase in number. Read Genesis!

Because it is the #1 sin that Satan has used against all mankind. Think about it. God meant for sex to be between a married man and woman. Did not Lucifer (Satan) use it against Adam and Eve?
