Each victory is different.

Some of the easy ones are the best and since I didn't spend tons on energy getting them, it's sweet. I've had a few I really fought for and won, and then was disappointed that I spend so much time and energy on something so stupid.

I've also had hard victories that I learned a lot from and even if i didn't win the journey was the fruit of my reward.

I think it depends on what I'm being victorious over. But in general, I think that hard won victories are more satisfying because you get a greater sense that your hard work and effort have been worthwhile and have paid off.

When I consider your question as it applies to sports I have a different response. I am very competitive but my competitiveness is directed inward. I compete with myself. I push my self to do and play better. Take tennis or bowling for instance, I would rather play well and lose than play poorly and win. I take great satisfaction from playing well and doing my best. I feel frustrated and angry when I play poorly. Sometimes winning even though I have played poorly is like having salt rubbed in my wounds. On a humorous note, I think my previous statements show I take games and sports way too serious.

A victory is a victory. Of course the hard won ones are the ones that
make you feel best because they did not come easy, you appreciate them more, because of the hard work that went into them.
