No. It means he didn't have any other options when you were going out. Now he found someone else he wants to pursue, so he is keeping you around for his physical fulfillment and needs while he chases some other girl.

Not at all. He enjoys sex with you very much and although you cannot be together, he still wants to do that if you do. So now yes he is using you for sex, and you are using him for sex. That doesn't mean that what you had was worthless.
