Macs can run both Mac and PC software. They can't catch a virus but they can get a trojan horse. They are well made and require few repairs.

Back in the old days of computers, Apple and IBM were the big competitors. Apple made (and still makes) Macs, and IBM made PCs. Much of the mac hardware and the pc hardware were non-interchangable, and Macs had their own operating system (MacOS, as opposed to the most popular PC operating system, Windows). In the last decade, Macs have become famous for their style and their popularity in schools, with graphic artists, and more. However, since about a year ago, all macs have been made with intel processors, which is essentially a PC part. So now, the only thing that a Mac can do that PCs can't is run MacOS. Macs can now even run Windows (with the new intel processors). IMHO, Macs are now just very overpriced (but cool looking) PCs. Get a dell and save some $$$$$

Also, redunicorn@s... said that Macs can't catch a virus. This ain't true. And before anyone flames me, look it up.

Both are good computers. The MACs have less software selections available than PCs and the software is usually more expensive.

It's really your personal preference. Both can do lots of things extremely quickly.

Don't listen to all the computer bigots out there. Most of them hate one and love the other.
