depending on what they're crying about and their personality i would only burst out in laughter but then say something after to cheer them up...

It has happened, yes... and it's pretty awful.

It isn't cruel, it is called hysteria. Some people just cannot control the urge to laugh when they are in an embarrassing situation. It's not that they really think it is funny.

The best way to control that urge is to concentrate on the saddest thing you can think of.

its like laughing at a funeral. sometimes it cant be helped and you dont know why.
