I agree!
Unless your time is severely limited, please take the time to see both! Vancouver City is so wonderful and beautiful and it really is a unique city in many ways with much to see ... Granville Island, Stanley Park, Capilano suspension Bridge, Lynn Creek, all the museums, horseshoe bay.
Vancouver Island, specifically Victoria, but Nanaimo too, are also beautiful and you would be remiss in not getting to see them. The gardens, great architecture, and the ferry ride itself.
If you can't do both, do Victoria.

The airport is in Vancouver why not land here and take a 2 hour ferry ride to Vancouver Island to see Victoria. You really should see both.
Eventhough I am from the Vancouver area if you had to see only only place I think downtown Victoria is prettier than vanc city

They're both so great, and both so different, the only thing to do is see them both. There's an hour-long ferry boat ride connecting the two, and in season, if you're lucky, you may see the pods of whales in Active Pass.
For information on Vancouver Island and on Vancouver, log on to HelloBC.com -- but do consider seeing both.

Vancouver Island is thoroughly cut loose Vancouver first. To get there you've a decision you may both visit Victoria first and spend an afternoon or 2 there earlier starting up. or you may start in Nanaimo. in case you ensure to start with Victoria then really see the Royal BC Museum, it truly is between the proper museums interior the international. you may want to be there all day. it fairly is ideal interior the interior Harbour with plenty more effective to work out which incorporates the Parliament homes, Empress motel, Royal Wax Museum, Beacon Hill Park, etc... you may also go out to Buchart Gardens that are captivating besides. there is also parks there that you may spend quite some time dealing with. Up the island is Chemanius - artwork of artwork are magnificent, Nanaimo - thrilling to stroll by ability of, Parksville incredible seashores, Courtenay/Comox - Mt Washington, Forbiddean Plateau for snowboarding & trekking, Campbell River - fishing

Vancouver Island if you like the outdoors, hiking, kayaking that sort of thing. But if you want to shop, or do the bar scene you're better off to stick with Vancouver, although both are really nice.

It depends on what you want. Vancouver city is a bustling, hip, urban city whilf Vancouver island is a bit more tranquil. (My opinion, at least.) Both are worth visiting.

Why don't you visit both? They're only about 1.5 hrs apart by ferry. By the way, you have the same first name as me.
