My friend is just getting really annoying and bossy, but I'm not sure how to tell her. I've tried to tell her before, but it doesn't seem to sink in. Any suggestions that is an easy way to go at this situation without breaking up with her?

One option most people don't consider is the path of least resistance:

When your friend starts with the annoying/bossy behavior, simply get up and leave.

If it's just a temporary phase she's going through, then she will get the message and start treating you differently. Plus, it will not hurt her feelings as much as a big fight would.

If it's not temporary (more like a part of her personality), then you can tell her "Excuse me for interrupting you while you are being MISERABLE. We now return you to your regularly scheduled life. C ya!" You don't have to be nasty about this, just say it conversationally, and walk away. Of course, at some point you will have to decide if the friendship is worth the annoyance, but that's your call anyway.

unfortunately, there probably is not and easy way to tell her..my suggestion would be to wait for the right time, have a few examples ready when she ask how is she being annoying or bossy..and just tell her, get straight to the point and be direct as possible.

once you tell her see if any changes occur in her behavior, if not then you know what you gotta do...

Well, you need to tell her and be all serious about it. Not just a quick 'oh your bossy' as you walk into the mall and start shopping. You need to give solid, concrete examples of how she is annoying or bossy. Don't just tell her she 'is' all the time. Write them down and be specific.

And be ready for her to come back--'I'm not bossy...I'm just getting what i want...'

Let her read what you just wrote, she may get the message.
